What Is It

Why Choose Tile Flooring?

Ceramic and porcelain tile surfaces are highly water-resistant, scratch resistant, and stand up well to normal daily use. In Arizona's climate tile also stays naturally cool underfoot, making it a popular choice for living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, entryways, and outdoor transitions.

It is important to understand that a tile surface being water-resistant is not the same as a full wet-area assembly being waterproof. In showers, tub surrounds, and other wet areas, waterproof performance depends on the complete system beneath the tile — the substrate, waterproofing membrane, movement joints, mortar, and grout — not the tile surface alone. Proper substrate preparation, movement accommodation, premium mortar, correct grout, and waterproofing where required are all essential.

Modern tile comes in an enormous range of styles, sizes, and finishes. Large format tiles create a seamless, expansive look that makes rooms feel bigger. Wood-look tiles give you the warmth of hardwood with the durability of ceramic or porcelain. Marble-look tiles deliver a high-end aesthetic at a fraction of the cost of natural stone.

Ceramic and porcelain differ in how they are made: porcelain is denser and less porous than ceramic, which can make it better suited to high-moisture or high-traffic areas. Both are excellent choices when matched to the right application.

How It Works

What Goes Into a Proper Installation?

The quality of a tile floor depends almost entirely on what happens before the tile goes down. We start with proper subfloor and slab preparation — assessing flatness, addressing cracks and movement, and building the right substrate for the space, whether it is an interior floor, a kitchen backsplash, or an outdoor transition.

We use premium mortar for superior bonding strength, ensuring each tile is firmly set and resistant to cracking, shifting, or lifting over time. The mortar beneath your tile is just as important as the tile itself.

Throughout every installation we use professional leveling clips and wedges. This system holds each tile at a precise, uniform height while the mortar cures, eliminating lippage — the uneven edges between tiles that are the most common sign of poor workmanship.

We handle all grout work, caulking at transitions and corners, and clean up completely before the final walkthrough. What you get is a finished floor, not just set tiles.

Why Gray's

Why Choose Gray's for Your Tile Installation

Professional Leveling System

Every tile we set uses a clip-and-wedge leveling system to encourage a flush, lippage-free surface. It takes more time but the difference in the finished result is immediately visible.

Premium Materials Only

We use quality mortar, grout, and setting materials on every project. The materials under your tile determine how long it lasts, and we do not cut corners where it counts.

Clean, Complete Finish

Grout, caulk, transitions, and cleanup are all part of the installation. You get a fully completed floor from start to finish.
